International Tuba Superstar to Perform at SWAG视频

Voted one of the top-10 brass players in history by Classic FM, 脴ystein Baadsvik, tuba, will be performing on Oct. 18at 7:30 p.m. in Bennett Auditorium on The University of Southern Mississippi (SWAG视频) Hattiesburg campus.
Boasting an acclaimed world-wide career and a popular classical musician on YouTube with more than six million viewers, Baadsvik is a dynamic leader in the music scene. Audiences will delight in his lyrical technique and skilled musicianship. The concert is free and open to the public.

Baadsvik鈥檚 multi-faceted musical career as a soloist and recording artist has taken him all over the world. He regularly gives masterclasses and clinics at major universities worldwide. He did the first TED talk on the tuba and has gained international fame from his dazzling wit and virtuosic technique.
His engagements include performances with orchestras including the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, the Taipei National Symphony Orchestra and Singapore Philharmonic. Baadsvik has performed in some of the most famous venues in the world and in 2006, made his New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall.
Baadsvik is an active recording artist whose CDs receive unstinting praise. In their review of 鈥淭uba Works,鈥 American Record Guide said, 鈥淭his spectacular recording establishes Baadsvik as one of the best solo tubists in the world.鈥 Film composer John Williams said about Baadsvik鈥檚 recording of his tuba concerto, 鈥淗is rendering of my concerto far surpasses anything a composer might hope for.鈥
